RADIOGRAPHIC KILOVOLTAGE
Major and minor rotary knob selection of kVp from 28 to 1 25 kVp in increments of
approximately 20 kilovolts major and 2 kilovolts minor. The pre-reading kVp meter is
scaled from 20 to 130 kVp.
RADIOGRAPHIC EXPOSURE TIME
Eighteen time selections are provided by a single rotary knob. Time selections are: 1/1
20, 1/60, 1/30, 1/20,1/15,1/10,3/20,1/5,3/10,2/5,1/2,7/10, 1, 1-1/3, 2, 3,4 and 6 seconds.
Solid state electronic timer and 8CR contacting.
RADIOGRAPHIC MILLIAMPERAGE
There are eight milliampere stations, selectable with a single rotary switch. Large or
small focal spot selections are made automatically when the mA is selected, mA and focal
spot combinations are: 25S, 50S, 1008, 200L, 300L, 400L, 500L, 600L. Actual tube current
is shown on a dual scale current meter at the time of exposure. The analog meter switches
automatically between the 0-100 and 0-600 mA scales.
STANDARD SPEED TUBE STARTER
When the rotor switch is depressed circuitry automatically applies a 220volt starting
voltage to the x-ray tube until the anode rotation is approximately 3000 RPM, it then
reduces voltage to 40-60 volts, depending on x-ray tube, to minimize heat input.
Programmed rotor delay is adjustable from 0.5 to 3.0 seconds to match various tube
requirements.
PROTECTIVE CIRCUITS
Circuits are incorporated into the design to protect the generator and tube from overload
conditions. A safety interlock inhibits exposure if the rotor fails to operate. A dual
range tube limit circuit prevents exposure if the selected combination of kVp, mA, and
exposure time exceeds permissable tube ratings. A memory circuit minimizes core saturation
and transient conditions in the high tension transformer by initiating the exposure on
alternate half cycles. A safety circuit trips the generator off if the tube current is in
excess of 700 mA; an 80 mA ground fault occurs; or the primary SCRs short circuit.
This circuit breaker is reactivated after the overload condition is corrected by switching
the generator OFF then ON. Exposure is inhibited if the tube filament is open circuited.
SOLID STATE MILLIAMPERE STABILIZER
Automatically holds the selected mA value during a radiographic exposure through
feedback from the secondary or high tension supply. The circuit continuously adjusts tube
filament current during each exposure regardless of kV, space charge, or line
fluctuations. |
GENERATOR OPTIONS
Several additions can be added to
the generator to expand its capabilities and functions.
Automatic Exposure Control
(AEC): This option automatically controls the exposure to provide properly exposed and
repeatable diagnostic films. There is provision for independent and multiple three field
selection, automatic back up time which follows the tube protection curve, five position
density selector of - 50%; - 25%; normal; + 50%; + 100% density variations, and a separate
on/off switch to either operate in the automatic or manual modes as circumstances dictate.
Hand Switch: This option is
provided to satisfy those who prefer a hand switch rather than push buttons to control
exposures. Special circumstances may require a separate hand switch exposure control
